Tenuta Di Arceno Chianti Classico , Italy, 2020. This 2020 Chianti Classico showcases aromas of violets, roses, strawberries, and a hint of cypress. The immediate impact is bright and lively with an incredible flavor intensity. The flavors explode from a dark fruit center of blueberry and are framed by beautiful acids. The finish is dominated by citrus notes of blood orange, ending with lingering earthy cedar.
CA' Di Pian Barbera D'asti Superiore 2019. The wine offers lifted aromas of black and purple fruits with crushed stone or chalk at the back. The acidity is, of course, very present. There is a point of candied cherry sweetness that rides high on the bouquet. This is a solid food wine."
Villarini Nero d’Avola, Italy, 2020. Villarini displays some of the classic Italian aromas: cherry, blackberry, & plum with notes of herbs, sage, chocolate
Luigi Baudana Langhe Bianco Dragon, Barolo, Italy, 2021 A blend of mostly Chardonnay, with Sauvignon Blanc, Nascetta and a touch of Riesling, the Luigi Baudana 2021 Langhe Bianco Dragon is super fresh and zesty with lovely citrus, white almond and fresh honeysuckle. The wine's lean and direct style would pair with sushi or a grilled fish with olive oil and lemon.
Terranoble Sauvignon Blanc, Chile', 2018. This zesty Sauvignon Blanc has fresh aromas reminiscent of lemons, gooseberries and tropical fruits. It shows a crisp ripe acidity and good persistence of flavour on the finish.
Saint Cosme Little James' Basket Press, Sauvignon-Viognier Blend, Languedoc, France, 2021. Sauvignon Blanc brings acidity to the blend while Viognier provides fleshiness and attractive notes of stone fruit and flowers. Blending the two varieties results in an aromatic and fresh-tasting wine with aromas and flavors of peach blossoms, fennel, apricots, grapefruit, lychee fruit, and mangos.
Buhler Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019. These are amply backed with black plums, black olives and mulled cherries that smooth the sandy edges of the moderately tannic texture. A juicy, fan-friendly wine, with a flash of mint giving way to brambly raspberry and boysenberry pâte de fruit notes, which are backed by a snap of red licorice on the finish.
Sarah's Vineyard, Dwarf Oak Pinot Noir, Besson Vineyard, CA 2018. The 2018 Reserve Pinot Noir is bursting with red fruit aromas and flavors: cherry, raspberry, red currant, as well as floral notes of rose and violets on the nose. In the glass the fruit is accentuated by baking spice and vanilla with bright acidity and silky tannins.
Browne Family Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, WA 2019. Aromas of black currant, raspberry and blackberry jam introduce big, jammy flavors. Showcases ripe tannins and delicious notes of vanilla on the finish.
Copain Tous Ensemble, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, 2018. On the nose hints of hazelnut, lemon curd, white peach, and pie crust. On the palate, light to medium weight with layers of green apple, citrus, quinine, and a slight creaminess woven together. Incredible length and tension make this wine refreshing, bright, and delicious.
Battle Creek Reserve Chardonnay, Willamette Valley, OR, 2019. The aromas are unusual, with notes of custard, cheese and sea salt along with pear and apple. Sleekly styled flavors follow, while still showing a creamy texture. The acidity drives it all.
